MacLendon B. Piwonski, 58, of Hartland, beloved wife of Theodore J. Piwonski, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Hartford Hospital. Born in New Britain to the late John S. Black Jr. and Jean (Royce) Black, she attended Mooreland Hill School and was a graduate of St. Margaret's in Waterbury. MacLendon married the love of her life, Ted, in 1977 and they moved together to Granby. Shortly after they moved to Hartland and have been residents ever since. MacLendon and Ted were members of the National Corvette Restorers Society and she enjoyed spending her spare time sunbathing by the lake. She was an avid dog lover, always caring for at least four dogs at a time, and often took in strays and dogs from rescue shelters. A compassionate and loving woman she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Besides her husband Ted, of Hartland, she is survived by her son Yosh S. Piwonski and his wife Amber, of Charleston, SC; her grandson Breison S. Piwonski; her brother John S. Black, III and his wife Margie, of Westport; her sister Royce B. Carter and her husband Bob, of Woodstock; a best friend Debbie Haynes, of Hartland; and many loving brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in MacLendon's name to Bandits Place, PO Box 44 East Hartland, CT 06027.
